Oh Heavens! History

As a youth, Mark Delaney was inspired to be a baker by his grandmother, Margaret Delaney. He loved being in the kitchen, making sweet treats for himself and his family. Although his first batch of peanut butter cookies turned out to be peanut butter puddles, he learned a valuable lesson about following instructions closely.

Growing up, Mark had a dream of owning his own bakery shop. Whether it was making delicious cakes or cookies, sweet pastries or butter horns, Mark wanted to be the one to put a smile on peoples' faces and something yummy in their tummy!

Mark began pondering on how to create the best cheesecake ever, without sweet-lovers paying a lot to get these sweets and finding somewhere convenient for customers to find such treats. He decided to make his own! Being the kind of person he is, Mark shared these decadent cheesecakes with his family, friends and co-workers.

While wetting his co-workers taste buds with a Caramel Cinnamon Apple cheesecake, one of his co-workers suggested that he go into business for himself, making his delicious creations. Talking with his wife Charlotte, they realized they shared the same dream. They sat down and planned, vamped and re-vamped, "Delaney's Cakes". Their very own home-based business.

Mark continued to make wonderful cheesecakes for friends, family and co-workers. He created cheesecakes for social events, birthdays and special occasions, all the while, dreaming of having their own shop to make his heavenly cheesecakes.

Loni Banks believed that Mark and Charlotte's dream could definitely become a reality. As a good friend of both, she encouraged them to take their business a step further and open a storefront shop. At that point, Mark and Charlotte invited Loni to join them on their journey to becoming successful business owners.

Loni was "on board" with a business plan. All three of them sat down to think of a name and theme for their new company. They thought of the different possibilities of locations, menu items, prices and best of all... flavors! Once all this was said and done, they came to an agreement and created ...
